Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 17/12/2025
Welcome to BestFriend.health ("BestFriend", "we", "our", "us"). These Terms & Conditions govern the use of our website and companionship services by families, parents, and companions. By accessing our website, booking services, or working as a companion with BestFriend, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
BestFriend provides non-medical, non-clinical companionship services for elderly individuals. Our services are designed to offer emotional engagement, conversation, recreational activities, and social connection. We do not provide medical care, nursing services, therapy, financial assistance, legal advice, or emergency medical services. Participation in our services does not replace professional healthcare or mental health treatment.
Families and clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about themselves and the parent receiving services, including interests, mobility status, preferences, sensitivities, and any boundaries. BestFriend relies on this information to match companions appropriately and deliver safe, respectful experiences.
All sessions are conducted strictly as companionship engagements. Companions are not permitted to handle money, bank details, valuables, medications, medical equipment, legal documents, or personal financial matters. Physical assistance is limited to gentle, non-medical support such as walking together or seated activities, and only when explicitly agreed upon.
BestFriend uses structured processes such as companion screening, training, supervision, GPS-based check-in and check-out, session summaries, and emotional wellness observations to ensure quality and safety. However, while we take all reasonable precautions, BestFriend is not liable for incidents resulting from incomplete information, unsafe home environments, third-party actions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
BestFriend provides non-medical companionship services only. Our companions are not trained, licensed, or authorised to provide medical care, nursing assistance, emergency response, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind.
In the event of a medical emergency, sudden health event, injury, or unforeseen circumstance involving the parent during or outside a companionship session, BestFriend and its companions shall not be held responsible for medical outcomes, delays, or consequences. Companions are instructed to follow predefined escalation steps, which may include informing family members, caregivers, or emergency services, but they do not assume responsibility for medical decision-making or intervention.
Families acknowledge that aging individuals may experience health-related incidents independent of companionship services. By engaging BestFriend, families agree that BestFriend, its founders, employees, and companions are not liable for illness, injury, hospitalization, or death resulting from underlying medical conditions, natural causes, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Families are responsible for disclosing relevant medical conditions, emergency contacts, and care instructions prior to service commencement. BestFriend reserves the right to pause or discontinue services if it believes the level of medical risk exceeds the scope of non-medical companionship.
Families acknowledge that companionship outcomes may vary based on individual personalities, preferences, and circumstances. BestFriend does not guarantee specific emotional, behavioral, or health outcomes.
Services may be paused, rescheduled, or discontinued by BestFriend if safety concerns arise, if boundaries are violated, or if continued service is deemed inappropriate or unsafe for any party.
Companions engaged by BestFriend act as independent service providers trained under BestFriend's guidelines. Companions must adhere strictly to the Code of Conduct, training protocols, confidentiality obligations, and session boundaries defined by BestFriend. Any violation, including solicitation of private payments, inappropriate behavior, breach of confidentiality, or misrepresentation, may result in immediate termination and legal action where applicable.
Companions are strictly prohibited from independently engaging with families outside the BestFriend platform for similar services during and after their engagement period, as outlined in their agreement with BestFriend.
All information shared during sessions, including personal stories, family details, and observations, must be treated as confidential by both companions and BestFriend staff. Families also agree to respect the privacy and dignity of companions.
BestFriend may suspend or terminate access to services or engagement with companions if these Terms & Conditions are violated, without prior notice if required for safety or legal reasons.
All intellectual property, including website content, service structure, training materials, reports, and branding, belongs to BestFriend and may not be copied, reproduced, or misused without written permission.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
BestFriend reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
